 A youth named Sohail (23) was shot dead by miscreants over a trivial incident in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar. This incident took place yesterday Thursday (November 16) at 9 am in the area called Magaria Kata of Bara Maheshkhali of the upazila. The deceased youth is the son of Osman Gani of the same area. He was a fishing boat worker by profession. This has been confirmed by Maheshkhali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukant Chakraborty. According to local sources, last Wednesday evening during the Cricket World Cup game, an argument started between Ehsan and Sohail over drinking water in a tea shop. As a result of this, there was a clash between the people of Ehsan and Sohail’s side on Thursday morning. His family alleged that Sohail was killed by enemy fire. The family of the deceased said that some terrorists led by Ehsan hacked and injured several people with sharp domestic weapons. Sohail was killed by Ehsan’s shot. When asked to know, OC Sukant Chakraborty said that a young man named Sohail was killed over a trivial incident. Maheshkhali Thana police visited the spot. This police officer said that several teams of Maheshkhali Police Station are working to arrest the involved.
