The army has arrested a young man named Salauddin Khan (38) with LG Bandhuk and several country-made weapons in Chauddagram, Comilla. Salauddin is the son of Md. Shahjahan Khan of Kaliartal (Bishnapur) area of ​​Gunbati Union in the upazila.
He was arrested from Fakir Bazar on Sunday night (January 5) based on a secret information. Later, based on the information he provided, the army recovered a revolver and local weapons from his house and handed them over to Chauddagram Police Station. However, several of his associates managed to escape during this time.
According to sources at the Chauddagram Army Camp, evidence of a local house being used as a torture cell was found in this special operation led by the 23rd Infantry Division’s Chauddagram Camp.
Army officer Major Mahin said that ordinary people were forcibly taken to this torture cell and subjected to physical and mental torture. The operation was conducted on Sunday (January 5) night after a long period of surveillance based on secret information. The arrested Salahuddin Khan was accused of secretly keeping weapons. According to the information given by the accused, his house and surrounding areas were later searched. During the search, a large quantity of illegal weapons were recovered from the two-storey building next to his house. The house is known as “London’s House”. It is known that the building was used as a torture room for local terrorists. The building is owned by Riaz Hussain Kamal.
Major Mahin further said that the operation was conducted with the aim of rooting out armed criminals and this operation will continue. A case has been filed against the arrested Salauddin Khan at Chauddagram Model Police Station and an operation is underway to arrest his associates.
Chauddagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge ATM Aktaruzzam said that the army arrested a man named Salauddin Khan with weapons last night and handed him over to Chauddagram Police Station.
