The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has just concluded with a nail-biter final game between India and South Africa. India eventually came out as the winner of the tournament, putting an end to the country’s 13-year drought in the global cricket arena. The Rohit Sharma led Indian team showed magnificent performance throughout the tournament by winning all eight matches they played and one got washedout due to rain.

This was the ninth edition of this tournament co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States. Along with Bangladesh total 20 countries participated in this tournament. Under the captaincy of Nazmul Hasan Shanto Bangladesh started their world cup campaign well with three victories out of the four group stage matches. But in the super 8 stage, displayed poor performance by losing all the three matches to  Australia, India and Afghanistan.

However, one more important thing about this world cup is that after more than a decade any world cup trophy has come back to the Indian subcontinent since the last world cup won by a subcontinent team was India who won the ICC Odi world cup back in 2011.
