Rangpur in district coordinator workshop of food department and GAIN held . A one-day district coordinator workshop was held in Rangpur with farmers on the occasion of collection of biofortified zinc paddy and rice. Consultant Gain Bangladesh director Dr M Monir Uddin was the chief guest at the workshop under the chairmanship of Assistant Food Controller Nikhil Chandra Burman organized by Food Department and Gain Bangladesh at RDRS Conference Hall in the city on Thursday. Special guests were Habibur Rahman Additional Deputy Director Agriculture Extension, Jannatil Ferdous Senior Scientific Officer Bari and other agriculturists were present. The speakers will successfully collect zinc paddy and rice through the Department of Food and distribute it among the vulnerable population under the social security program and deal with the deficiency of zinc they need. He also said that the amount of zinc in zinc rice is much higher than other rice. Other rices have zinc on top and zinc rice has zinc deep inside. Which contains zinc even after it has been cut.
