Workers of a garment factory named Globus Garments Limited in the Mouchak area of ​​Kaliakoir in Gazipur are protesting by blocking the Dhaka-Tangail highway. This has created a long traffic jam on both sides of the highway since 7 am, causing suffering to commuters.
The workers said that the workers had a fight with the staff of the factory. During this, one of the staff beat the workers, which angered the workers and first vandalized the factory and then started protesting by blocking the Dhaka-Tangail highway from 8 am.
Later, around 10 am, members of the joint forces removed the protesting workers from the highway. Traffic movement returned to normal after two hours.
Meanwhile, workers of the BSIS factory in Tongi Hossain Market area of ​​Gazipur have blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway demanding three months’ arrears of salary.
