A tragic road accident happened at Nimnagar Balubari Shaheed Minar intersection of Dinajpur Sadar on Tuesday (November 12) around 8 o’clock in the morning. A woman died in the accident, but the one-year-old child in her arms miraculously survived. The name of the deceased woman is Rozina Khatun (25). She is the wife of Farooq Hossain, a resident of Sankarpur village of Birol upazila. According to local sources, Rozina was going to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital in an autorickshaw for treatment. On the way, when the autorickshaw took a turn, he fell down and was crushed to death by a truck coming from behind. Witnesses present at the scene said that the child in Rozina’s lap was not injured during the accident. The child is now healthy. In this incident, the Kotwali police station has arrested the truck driver and the process of taking legal action is underway.
