Sonaimuri Upazila Engineer Imdadul Haque expressed his regret and said that due to various ongoing development works, irregularities and delays, despite repeated warnings to the contractors, the contractors are not obeying any official orders due to unknown reasons and by the force of some scum behind.
According to the sources of Sonaimuri Upazila Engineer’s Office, in the last financial year, the Executive Engineer’s Office invited tenders for paving about 17 rural roads from the Greater Noakhali Project (JNP). Among them, 4 in Nateshwar Union, 1 in Ambar Nagar Union, 2 in Bargaon Union. Regarding these irregularities, several local contractors said that the officials of the executive engineer’s office do not sign files without 15% commission, due to which the contractors cannot complete the work properly.
