Special Correspondent: Sheikh Hasina is trying to activate her terrorists by taking refuge in Delhi, said the chief advisor to the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

He said, (Sheikh Hasina’s actions) are preventing the country from recovering from its era of oppression. Complete law and order must be restored immediately. No more attacks can be made against the property of Sheikh Hasina’s family and politicians of the fascist Awami League party or against any citizen under any pretext.

The chief advisor’s press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, made these remarks in a government statement on Friday (February 7).

In the statement, the chief advisor said, the anger of those who attacked the property (of Awami League leaders) is understandable. Because they and their relatives have been subjected to torture for years during Sheikh Hasina’s regime. The government understands that Sheikh Hasina is trying to activate her terrorists by taking refuge in Delhi. However, despite understanding this reality, the government is urging all citizens that we must obey the law. We must show the world that we respect the rule of law. Adherence to the rule of law is the hallmark of our new Bangladesh, which has distinguished us from the old fascist regime. The foundation of our security and stability cannot be weakened. Any disregard for the law puts the lives and properties of citizens at risk.

He said that in order to fulfill the dreams of the citizens who stood up against Sheikh Hasina’s regime in July and August, we must prove to ourselves and our friends around the world that we are committed to justice. Respectful of each other’s citizens and human rights and steadfast in upholding the law. The fighters for a just new Bangladesh should not do anything that creates an opportunity to compare the behavior of the current institutions with the previous authoritarian regime.

Dr. Yunus said that our security forces are aware of this. The government is working to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the lives and properties of all Bangladeshis. If anyone engages in provocative activities to create instability in the country, the law enforcement forces will take immediate and strict action. Anyone who tries to create chaos will be brought to justice.

He further said, the fascist leaders have left the country in extreme distress. As long as we remain vigilant and maintain the moral high ground, they will not get a chance to return. If they attack their properties, they will get an opportunity to attract international attention and try to spread their fabricated stories. We are bringing them to justice for crimes against humanity. The whole world is with us. Any deterioration in law and order will send the wrong message to the world.

At this time, calling on all the citizens of the country, the Chief Advisor said, let us build a country where all Bangladeshis can live with security and dignity. For this, we have to maintain self-control. We have to use our strength in constructive and peaceful initiatives for positive change.
