Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar said, “The financial assistance being provided to the family members of the martyrs and injured of July is not enough. Because of them, we have got a new Bangladesh. We are all indebted to the martyrs of July.”
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the “Bangladesh by the Side of Wounded Warriors” program organized by the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation at the Khulna District Art Academy this afternoon.
The Fisheries and Livestock Advisor said, “The student movement in 2024 has shown us that the student community and the general public of Bangladesh never accept injustice and injustice. It is because of their sacrifice that Bangladesh became independent for the second time.”
The advisor said that the current government will provide medical facilities to the injured as long as they are needed. A directorate is being set up under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to assist the injured and martyred families. He also said that students who are healthy can play a role in building a social movement to improve the law and order situation, including violence against women.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam presided over the function and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Firoz Sarkar and Superintendent of Police TM Mosharraf Hossain spoke as special guests. July Shaheed Smriti Foundation Chief Executive Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha delivered the welcome speech.
At the event organized by the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, 40 of the 61 injured in the July Revolution in Khulna were given a check of one lakh taka each. The July Shaheed Smriti Foundation provided financial assistance to a total of 53 people.
Earlier, at the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the July Revolution and a documentary film about the July Revolution was screened.
