Last 13th December 23rd Plaintiff Md Ali Hossain (45), father Md Ayyub Ali, mother Arfanur Nesha, Sang-Sonaimuri (Maish Pukuria Haji Bari), Thana- Barura, District- Comilla victim Poppy Akhtar (17) Barura He came home at around 12.30 pm after taking the exam from Sonaimuri High School under Thana. The plaintiff’s daughter came home at approximately 13.30 hrs and the victim Poppy Akhtar (17) went to Chan Mia’s land approximately half a kilometer north-east of the plaintiff’s house for grazing goats. But after the plaintiff’s wife came home from the market and did not find the plaintiff’s daughter Popi Akhtar (17), the plaintiff’s wife Khorsheda Begum and her father-in-law Shamser Ali (80) searched around the plaintiff’s house. During the search, the place of occurrence was found floating in the water of the canal adjacent to the land of Sonaimuri Sakin of Sonaimuri Sakin No. 13 Adra under Barura police station and screamed loudly after seeing some part of the plaintiff’s daughter’s dress floating in the canal water. Then hearing the noise of the plaintiff’s wife while doing agricultural work in the paddy field near the scene, Md. Kashem Hossain (40), father-deceased Manu Mia, mother-Zoydurnecha, Sang-Moish Pukuria, police station-Barura, district-Comilla came running and the plaintiff’s brother-in-law Shamser Ali (Shushu) 80) along with the plaintiff’s daughter Popi Akhtar (17) who went down in the canal water on 13/12/2023 AD at 05.30 pm and rescued her dead and took her home. Later, the plaintiff came home from Saudi Arabia on 14/12/2023 AH and after hearing the details from his wife and witnesses, after the post-mortem, he buried the body of the plaintiff’s daughter and came to the police station and filed a statement. , Section-302/201/34 Penal Code is enacted.
The investigation of the case was entrusted to SI(N)/Nazim Uddin. After receiving the body of the victim Poppy Akhtar (17) under the general direction of Superintendent of Police Comilla Mr. AKM Emranul Haque Maruf, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sadar South Circle, Comilla under the supervision of Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Md Riaz Uddin Chowdhury, Inspector of Police ( (Investigation) A smart team of Barura police station started the investigation process with the help of Mir Rezaul Islam, SI(Retd)/ Nazim Uddin along with fellow officers and force. Talking to the family of the deceased and the people of the area, there was no link to the murder. With the help of information technology, the Barura team along with the officer-in-charge of the Barura police station repeatedly visited the scene and conducted interrogations to identify the people involved in the murder on the basis of various data.
At one stage of the investigation process, the involvement of Farooq Hossain Shamim (27), father- Mizanur Rahman, mother- Fatema Begum, Sang- Mahish Pukuria, Sonaimuri, Thana- Barura, District- Comilla came up in the murder. After confirmation, Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) was arrested. After the arrest of Farooq Hossain Shamim (27), according to his comments, the other accused involved in the incident is Kashem Hossain (44), father – deceased Manu Mia, mother – Jaydurer Nesha, Sang – Mahish Pukuria, Sonaimuri, Thana – Barura, District – Comilla. Arrested. After being arrested and interrogated, the accused at one stage admitted their involvement in the murder incident. Accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) said that he is a bus driver by profession and consumes narcotic ganja and accused Kashem Hossain (44) is a CNG driver by profession and also does agricultural work. On 13/12/2023 A.H., the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) reached his home in Sonaimuri village under Barura police station at approximately 14.15 hours and went to the spot after finishing his meal to consume ganja. Accused 2 was cutting paddy in the land from the east. Talked with Kashem Hossain (44). In the adjacent land of the said land, the victim found Poppy Akhtar (17) grazing goats and got suspicious as no people were seen around. As a result of that, the accused thought of raping the victim Popi Akhtar (17). According to him, the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) gave a bad proposal to the victim Popi Akhtar (17). When the victim did not agree to the proposal, the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) grabbed the victim’s hand and dragged him. Later accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) tried to rape the victim by throwing her on the ground with the help of another accused Abul Kashem (44). But when the victim Poppy Akhtar (17) somehow ran to the root of the banana tree at the spot, the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) grabbed the victim and tried to rape him by lying on the ground. (27) Sit on the victim’s chest and hold the victim’s face first. The victim still struggled and tried to scream. Accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) held the victim’s throat without seeing any other way and got a piece of bamboo near his hand and pressed it on the vocal tract of the victim. After holding the victim for about 1/2 minute, as the victim did not move and died, the accused kept the body under the water of the nearby canal to hide it, the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27) went to drive and Kashem Hossain (44) drove his car. He went to harvest rice in the agricultural land. When the two accused appeared at the spot, the two accused told the details of the incident and the piece of bamboo used during the murder was recovered from the nearby forest as shown by the accused Farooq Hossain Shamim (27), and SI (retd)/Nazim Uddin seized the original seizure list. The arrested accused have been sent to the learned Court under proper police guard.
