UNO provides financial assistance to families killed in lightning strike in Barura

The Barura Upazila administration has extended a helping hand by providing 57,500 taka in cash to two families killed and one injured in a lightning strike in Payalgachch village of Khoshbas Uttar Union of Barura Upazila in Comilla.

On Monday afternoon, April 28, after hearing the news of the deaths in the lightning strike, Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Among Marma Mong rushed to the house of the deceased teenagers with a team. Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Among Marma Mong inquired about the affected families.

At that time, he provided 50,000 taka each to the families of Jihad Hossain and Fahad Hossain, who were killed in the lightning strike in Payalgachch village, and 7,500 taka in cash for the treatment of Abu Sufian, who was injured in the lightning strike. At that time, the local Union Parishad Chairman was instructed to stand by the affected families. He also called on the people of the society to stand by the helpless family.
