Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) at Brahmanbaria railway station in disguise early in the morning. After opening the counter in the train, he went to buy the ticket. He saw various mismanagement there. There he found out that a black marketer named Jewel (24) was selling tickets by contacting the mobile phone. On this news, they also contacted Jewel’s number. They were actually caught selling Jewel tickets. A counter man named Ticket Fakhrul (50) was also arrested in this operation. The incident took place at Brahmanbaria railway station at 4 am on Sunday (09 July). It is known that Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mohammad Salim Sheikh and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Musharraf Hossain disguised himself and went to the railway station early in the morning. When he went there, he heard that many tickets were available from a young man named Jewel. They collected Jewel’s mobile number. Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Selim Sheikh called him and wanted to buy tickets. At that time, Jewel said on the phone that he can manage all the tickets he needs, but the price of each ticket will be 250 taka. At one stage of the negotiation, Jewel came in front of the station gate and asked to collect the ticket with money. Brahmanbaria railway station ticket is a black market jewel. A counterman named Fakhrul was arrested while selling train tickets by hand. Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Salim Sheikh said that the arrested ticket black market Jewel has been sentenced to 4 months imprisonment without labor under Section 291 of Penal Code 1860. Besides, the ticket counter man Fakhrul was fined one lakh rupees under Section 40 of Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009. It is to be noted that the upazila administration conducted a raid at Brahmanbaria railway station last April and arrested four persons and sentenced them to various terms of imprisonment.
