The developed and prosperous countries of the world have been able to transform into developed and prosperous countries mainly because of maintaining unity among their people. On the other hand, the central leadership of the backward and underdeveloped countries is unable to maintain unity among the people within their respective countries, so they are underdeveloped and backward.
Unity is very important in all societies because unity is the rise and fall of division. Many countries and nations have been destroyed due to division or disunity. Therefore, unity is definitely necessary if we want to avoid destruction and transform our beloved motherland into a prosperous country.
The country became independent due to the unity of the people, including almost all political parties, against the Pakistani rule and exploitation. In 2024, due to the unity of the people, the fascist Awami League government, the ally of Indian hegemony, fell.
We Bangladeshis do not unite until we are in extreme danger. However, if we had not united in extreme danger, independence would not have been achieved in 71 and the country would not have been free from fascism and hegemony in 24. When extreme danger comes and unity is achieved, liberation comes through extreme loss. But if unity is achieved before extreme danger comes, extreme loss can be avoided as well as developed.
We formed the Bangladesh Oikya Party on February 5, 2021, with the aim of keeping the people of the country united on universal issues at all times and determining a strategy to create political coexistence by bringing the two political alliances back from a confrontational position. If there was no chaos in the country and the country truly moved forward based on the spirit of 1971, there would have been no need to form the “Bangladesh Oikya Party”.
We are trying to move forward by learning from the parties existing in the country before and after the formation of the Oikya Party, analyzing their weak points and being 100% careful so that the weak points do not remain in the Bangladesh Oikya Party.
The Bangladesh Oikya Party wants all the people of the country to enter politics – this is because if everyone in the country is involved in politics or is politically aware like the people of developed countries, political businessmen will not be able to make a profit from politics. As a result, politics will become free from business and the people will get the true benefits of politics.
Parties formed by people of their own party or single opinion did not want to give fair rights to people outside their party in the past. To alleviate this problem, we have been trying to form universal committees from the village to the center. If there are people of all opinions, including parliament, and not people of the same opinion, then it will not be possible to make biased and one-sided decisions under any circumstances, universal decisions will come.
If the current interim government moves forward in the light of the Oikya Party formula, the chaos prevailing in the country will no longer exist. Bangladesh Oikya Party formed a platform called “Desh Oikya” on April 8, 2024 with many registered and unregistered parties. Desh Oikya and Bangladesh Oikya Party are working on a common formula. On behalf of this platform, I and the Chairman of the platform, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Abu Yusuf Jobayer Ullah, PSC, signed Dr. Yunus with our formula and advice on September 1, 2024. I have submitted it in writing to Muhammad Yunus.
Even though the people, including almost all the political parties of the country, are united in extreme danger, when the extreme danger is over, they start cultivating disunity again as before, so the country is going in a bad direction again. It is important to maintain unity to save the country from going in a bad direction again. Moreover, without unity, it is not possible to transform into a developed country. No party in the country except Bangladesh Oikya Party has a universal formula to maintain unity for the purpose of saving the beloved motherland from going in a bad direction again and transforming it into a developed country. Therefore, we have been appealing to the political parties since its inception to adopt the formula of Bangladesh Oikya Party. They are refraining from adopting it due to their personal interests or lack of patriotism. We think that the current interim government is relatively more patriotic. And therefore, I strongly urge Dr. Yunus to come forward to adopt the formula of Bangladesh Oikya Party. It is worth noting that if the formula of the Bangladesh Oikya Party is adopted, sustainable unity and true liberation of the people will truly come.
