Sports Desk: India is coming to Bangladesh to play an ODI and T20I series. The men in blues will play three ODIs and a T20I in the red-green country next August. If all goes well, this will be India’s first bilateral T20I series on Bangladesh soil. India last played a white-ball series on Bangladesh soil in 2014. The Indian team played three ODIs then. The first two ODIs and the last two T20Is of this tour will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. And the third ODI and the first T20I will be held at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium (formerly known as Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium) in Chittagong. This tour will also serve as the final preparation for the 2025 T20 Asia Cup, which is being hosted by India. Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, “This series is going to be one of the most exciting and anticipated events in our domestic calendar. India has set the standard in international cricket across all formats and we are sure that crores of cricket fans from both countries will enjoy this competition. There have been some very competitive matches between Bangladesh and India in recent years. I am sure this series will be just as exciting and competitive.” The Indian team will arrive in Dhaka on August 13. The first two ODIs will be played on August 17 and 20. This will be followed by the third ODI and the first T20I in Chittagong, which will be held on August 23 and 26. The two teams will return to Dhaka to play the last two T20Is, which will be held on August 29 and 31. August is usually not the cricket season in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has rarely played matches during this time. For example, the first Test against Australia in 2017 and a five-match T20 series against the same team in 2021. However, India has experience of playing Bangladesh in the off-season before. Because India’s tour in 2014 was in June.
