Two Army soldiers were killed in an IED blast and firing by the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) in Ruma, Bandarban. Two other officers were injured in the incident. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has informed this information in a press release today. According to the notification, on the basis of intelligence information, there was news of the hideout of armed terrorists at a place called Jarulchari Para under the Sungsungpara army camp of Ruma upazila. On receiving this news, an army patrol led by Major Manowar from Sungsungpara Army Camp rushed to the concerned spot on Tuesday (May 16). When the patrol team reached near the water spill near Jarulchhari Para, at approximately 1:35 PM, the Kuki Chin National Army (KNA) terrorists came under improvised explosive device (IED) blast and sudden firing. Two officers and two soldiers were injured. The injured were quickly shifted to CMH Chittagong by helicopter. Later, two injured soldiers died while undergoing treatment. The other two injured officers are currently undergoing treatment at Chittagong CMH. It is to be noted that recently, the Kuki Chin National Army (KNA) is trying to create an anarchic environment through terrorist activities in the dense forests of Ruma, Rowangchari and Thanchi upazilas of Bandarban. The Army Chief expressed deep grief over the untimely death of the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country and expressed his condolences to their families.
