Two people, including the driver of a battery-powered autovan, were killed after being hit by a bus in Tangail’s Kalihati. The incident took place near Bridge No. 13 in Salla area of ​​Upazila on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway on Saturday (February 3). The deceased are Abdus Chattar (35) son of deceased Shukkur Ali of Gohaliabari village of Gohaliabari union of Kalihati upazila of the district and Abdul Momin (36) son of deceased Abdul Haque of Kurshabenu village of the same union. Among them, Abdus Chattar was the driver of the autovan and Abdul Momin was the passenger of the autovan.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bangabandhu Setu East Police Station Nazmul Hasan told the locals that an unidentified vehicle hit a Dhaka-bound Hanif Paribahan bus in Salla area. As a result, Hanif lost control and rammed the autovan in front. Autovan driver and passenger died on the spot. After receiving this information, the police recovered the bodies of the deceased.
(SI) Nazmul Hasan said that the body was recovered after receiving information from the locals. The bus has also been impounded. The family of the deceased has been informed about the accident. Later, the bodies of the two victims will be handed over to their families after the legal process.
