RAB-5 has arrested two extortionists for the crime of extortion on the main road of Chapainawabganj district city.
On Monday (February 6) morning, they were arrested by raiding the old market of Chapainawabganj municipality.
RAB said in an email sent through social media that the arrested are members of an organized extortion ring. For a long time, they have been collecting fees from the raw vegetable sellers near the old bazaar of the city of Chapai Nawabganj district, from the passengers of auto rickshaws carrying goods on the main road of public traffic using the names of local politicians and influential people. On such news, a raiding team of RAB conducted an operation and arrested them red-handed during the extortion.
Those arrested are Fauzul Azim Alfa (40) and Rabiul Awal (30) of Ward No. 15 of Chapainawabganj Municipality. RAB said that a case has been registered in Sadar Model Police Station of Chapainawabganj district in this incident.
