Two cousins named Lamiya Akhtar (4) and Ramzan Hawladar (3) died after consuming rat killing medicine in Jhalkathi’s Nalchiti.
They died at Barisal Sherebangla Medical College Hospital while ill on Thursday (14 November) night. This was confirmed by Nalchiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam.
The deceased are the daughter of Kamal Howlader and the son of Rana Howlader of Akharpara area of Kulkathi Union of Upazila. They are about cousins.
According to family sources, two people were playing inside the house on Wednesday (November 13) at noon. At this time, they ate the rat medicine kept under the bed. Later, their family members came to know about the matter and took them to Barisal Sherebangla Medical College Hospital. They died on Thursday night while undergoing treatment there.
Nalchiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Chalam said that a case of death has been registered in the tragic death of two children.
