Two accused were arrested by RAB-10 in Azimpur, the capital, with counterfeit notes worth 88,200 taka.

Yesterday, on 28/03/2025, a RAB-10 operation team conducted a raid in the Azimpur Government Quarter area of ​​the capital Dhaka and arrested 02 accused with fake notes worth 88,200/- (eighty-eight thousand two hundred) Taka. The names of the arrested accused are 1. Md. Sumon Hossain (22), father- Mozafar Billa, Sang- Shukdara, Thana- Fakirhat, District- Bagerhat and 2. Ahan (22), father- Ashiqur Rahman, Sang- Tangail Sadar, Thana and District- Tangail. During this time, 873 fake notes of 100 Taka equivalent, 18 fake notes of 50 Taka equivalent and 03 mobile phones were seized from them.
It is revealed that the arrested persons are active members of an organized counterfeit currency supply ring. They collected counterfeit currency from different parts of the country and kept it in their custody with the intention of supplying it to the market on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.  A regular case has been filed against the two arrested persons at the relevant police station.
