The tri-annual conference of Bangladesh Awami Swachhasebak League Kushtia district branch started after thirteen years today on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 4:30 pm at Kushtia Shillkala Academy with recitation of Holy Quran and reading of Gita. Gazi Mejbaul Hossain Sacchu, Acting President of the organization announced the auspicious opening of the conference. Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif MP spoke as the chief guest. General Secretary of the organization AKM Afzalur Rahman Babu spoke as the main speaker, Kushtia District Awami League President and Kushtia District Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Sadar Uddin Khan, AKM Sarwar Jahan Badsha MP, Kushtia District Awami League General Secretary Bir Muktijoddha spoke as special guests. Azgar Ali, Kushtia City Awami League General Secretary and Kushtia Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman Ata, Vice President of the organization Syed Nasir Uddin, Kazi Shahanara Yasmin, Joint General Secretary Khairul Hasan Jewel, Organizing Secretary Abdullah Al Sayem. Kushtia District Awami Volunteer League President Md. Akhtaruzzaman Labu presided over, Acting General Secretary Md. Salim Reza moderated. District Awami League, Chhatra League, Jubo League, Krishak League, Mahila Awami League, Mahila Jubo Awami League, Awami Matsyajeevi League, Chairpersons of various Union Parishads, Councilors, Delegates, guests along with a large number of upazila, thana, municipality, union and ward leaders were also present. After finishing the first session at around 8 pm, Chief Guest Mahbub Ul Alam MP, Inaugural Acting President Gazi Mejbaul Hossain Sacchu and Chief Speaker AKM Afzalur Rahman Babu left for Dhaka after receiving an urgent phone call and entrusted others with the responsibility of forming the committee. After a 15-minute break, the second session began and Aktaruzzaman Labu, president of the freshmen committee and founder of the Kushtia Volunteer League, told the guests that all the delegates and councilors were present in the hall and they had the right to take their opinion, but he refused and announced who the candidate for the post of president should come forward and say – Veer Putra 2 6 more candidates including John Suman and Sheikh Suvin are 8 president candidates and 15 more candidates including C. Journalist Bir Putra Habib are 16 general secretary candidates. Later, the president gave 10 minutes to 8 candidates and 16 general secretary candidates to determine the president and general secretary through consensus, but due to lack of consensus, finally at 9 pm in the 3rd session without announcing, the responsible said that they will discuss with senior leaders at night or any time of the day. Div, no one will be disappointed because 24 candidates means that we have got one-third of the qualified leaders of a district committee and the rest will certainly come good inshallah.
