Aman Ullah, Cox’s Bazar: The three-day ‘Liberation War Victory Festival’ has begun in Cox’s Bazar with the slogan ‘The victory of the Liberation War is our pride’.The festival was inaugurated at 5 pm last Tuesday at the Shaheed Daulat Maidan of the Cox’s Bazar Public Library and Institute with colorful arrangements initiated by the ‘Liberation War Victory Festival Celebration Council – Cox’s Bazar’.
The festival was inaugurated by releasing balloons amidst the performance of the national anthem by former freedom fighters Muzaffar Ahmed and Mansur Alam. Immediately after the inauguration announcement, the inaugural party anthem was played. After this, the victory rally took out. The rally circled the main road of the city and ended at Shaheed Daulat Maidan. In his inaugural speech, the brave freedom fighter Muzaffar Ahmed said that independence and the liberation war come once in the life of every nation. The independence achieved through the liberation war in 1971 is the address of the existence of the Bengali nation. We must remain united in building a Bangladesh without discrimination in the future by upholding the great spirit of the Liberation War. Ashraful Huda Siddiqui Jamshed, convener of the Victory Utsav Udjawan Parishad, delivered the welcome speech at the event, and Subimal Pal Panna, convener of the Udjawan Parishad, delivered the welcome speech. Present on the occasion were the brave freedom fighter Mansur Alam, co-chairman of the Victory Utsav Udjawan Parishad Khorshed Alam and member secretary Nasir Uddin, cultural organizers Utpal Barua, Deepak Sharma Dipu, M Jasim Uddin, Monir Mubarak and other prominent figures. Earlier, a drawing competition was held with the participation of children. More than a hundred children and adolescents participated in various categories. The organizers said that 30 cultural organizations including Udichi, Khelaghar Asar and Satyen Sen Shilpi Goshti will participate in the Victory Utsav. Various cultural performances including commemorative speeches, songs, plays and dances based on the Liberation War will be held every day from 5 pm to 11 pm. Local entrepreneurs as well as 20 stalls of various social organizations and institutions are set up at the festival venue. These stalls have various stalls including cottage and handicraft products, pithapuli and other stalls. In addition, social organizations Tarunyar Abhijatrik and Union Hospital are providing various medical services including free blood group determination to the visitors coming to the festival. Meanwhile, hundreds of visitors have participated in the colorful arrangements of the Victory Festival this time.
