The Human Metapneumonia Virus (HMPV) has been identified in Bangladesh. The infected person is a woman.

On Sunday (January 12), Dr. Halimur Rahman, Line Director of the Infectious Disease Control Branch of the Directorate General of Health Services, confirmed this information.

It is learned that the infected woman is a resident of Bhairab area. She has no history of traveling abroad. She is currently admitted to the capital’s Mohakhali Infectious Diseases Hospital and is receiving treatment.

Dr. Halimur Rahman said that the HMP virus has been found in the body of a woman. However, she is infected with viruses and bacteria. Among them, the virus is HMPV and the bacteria is Klebsiella pneumonia.

He also said that her physical condition has deteriorated due to the pneumonia bacteria. However, she is not much affected by HMPV.
