The chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh. Muhammad Yunus said, he has no desire to join politics or form a political party. His government has not even finalized the election outline so far. Dr. said these things in an interview given to the UK-based media Financial Times. Muhammad Yunus. The interview was published on Wednesday (October 30). The head of the interim government said that our task is to normalize everything and complete reforms. I will discuss it with the political parties after all the preparations for the elections are over. Muhammad Yunus alleged that Awami League, the party of dictator Sheikh Hasina who was ousted in the mass uprising of students, showed all the characteristics of fascism. They have no place in the politics of Bangladesh. The Financial Times wrote, the Nobel Peace Prize winner. It is clear from Yunus’s comments that the Nobel laureate-led government is taking a tough stance against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh’s oldest political party, Awami League. Dr. Muhammad Yunus also said that the interim government would not seek the return of Sheikh Hasina from India now, so that Bangladesh could avoid diplomatic tension with its biggest neighbour. This economist, who is known as the banker of the poor, said that he (Sheikh Hasina) and Awami League will definitely have no place in Bangladesh in a short period of time. “Awami League has taken away the rights of the people of the country, they have made political maneuvers, they have used the institutions of the country to achieve their own interests. No fascist party should exist in a democratic system.’ The Financial Times wrote, the country’s opposition political parties and human rights organizations have always complained that Sheikh Hasina has committed various crimes including election rigging and extrajudicial killings to stay in power for more than 15 years. Since Sheikh Hasina’s escape, there has been a debate whether Awami League’s political activities should be temporarily suspended or reformed or banned altogether. Dr. Yunus said, in his estimation, Awami League may break up. But the interim government will not decide its fate, because it is not a political government. The decision to determine the political position of Awami League and whether they will be able to participate in future elections will be determined based on the consensus of the political parties. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, relations between the Indian government and Bangladesh deteriorated. Professor Yunus said that the International Criminal Tribunal has issued an arrest warrant against 45 people including Hasina. After the verdict of this tribunal, the government will ask India to return Hasina. Dr. Muhammad Yunus made it clear that a charge of crimes against humanity has been filed against Sheikh Hasina. After the court verdict in this regard, we will try to bring him back based on the extradition treaty with India. I don’t think it needs to be done before judgment. Earlier last August, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajib Wazed Joy told the Financial Times that a false case has been filed against his mother. He is ready to face any charges. Because he did nothing wrong. Dr. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the security of minority Hindus in Bangladesh after Muhammad Yunus took over as the head of the interim government. Many people in Delhi have complained that the regime of Bangladesh has changed with the support of the United States. The Ministry of Health of Bangladesh said that about 800 people were killed in the movement of students. However, the human rights organizations could not confirm the truth of India’s allegations of mass atrocities on Hindus. Dr. Yunus told the Financial Times that there had been “a few incidents” of violence against Hindus and “very few” casualties. As the reason for this, he said, they have been targeted not on the basis of religion, but as followers of Awami League. He claimed that most of the victims of violence were Hindu Awami League supporters. It is being given a different form.
