Online Desk: The moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh. As a result, the holy month of Ramadan will begin tomorrow, Sunday (March 2). Devout Muslims will offer Tarawih prayers along with Isha prayers today, Saturday. They will eat Sehri in the early hours of the morning to observe the fast. On Saturday (March 1) evening, there were reports of the sighting of the Ramadan moon in various parts of the country. As a result, the counting of the holy month of Ramadan will begin tomorrow, Sunday. Religious Advisor Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain said, the moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh today. We have already received reports of moon sighting from 15 districts. The counting of the holy month of Ramadan will begin tomorrow, Sunday, March 2. In addition, the holy Shab-e-Qadr will be celebrated on the night of Thursday, March 27. Earlier, after Maghrib, a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee was held in the meeting room of the Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. The meeting was presided over by Religious Advisor Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain. A formal announcement was made from the meeting. After reviewing the information received from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, Meteorological Department and Space Research and Remote Sensing Institute regarding the sighting of the moon of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH, it can be seen that the moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh today, Saturday evening, 29 Shaban 1446 AH, 16 Falgun 1431 B.E., 1 March 2025 A.D. In this situation, the counting of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH will start from tomorrow, Sunday, 17 Falgun 1431 B.E., 2 March 2025 A.D. Salam Khan, Chief Information Officer of the Information Department Nizamul Kabir, Administrator of Bangladesh Waqf Administration Fakhrul Islam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Saiful Islam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mu. A. Awal Hawlader, Joint Secretary of the Cabinet Division Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Ibrahim Bhuiyan, Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization Dr. Muhammad Shahidul Islam, Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department Md. A. Rahman Khan, Additional Director of Bangladesh Television Ruhul Amin, Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, Principal of Government Madrasa-e-Alia Ashrafu Kabir, Khatib of Lalbagh Shahi Jame Mosque Mohammad Neamatullah, Khati Mufti of Chawkbazar Shahi Jame Mosque Sheikh Naeem Rezwan and others were present.
