Md. Nahid Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting mentioned that Tanjim’s murder will be an exemplary trial.
He said this to mediapersons after meeting the family members of martyred Lt. Tanjim Sarwar at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
The adviser said that his untimely death in the attack of miscreants is an irreparable loss not only for the army but also for the country.
Expressing condolences on behalf of the interim government, Nahid Islam said that Tanzim will live as a symbol of patriotism to the youth of Sarowar.
This young and talented officer of the Bangladesh Army, who is the guardian of peace, order and sovereignty of the country, has sacrificed his life to protect the lives and property of the people. The information adviser added that the nation will forever remember his sacrifice as an example of the ideal of patriotism.
He said that the young army officers played a strong role in the July coup. They refused to fire on the innocent student crowd. They stood for the people and from that place of responsibility the army is working for the country. Apart from protecting the country, they are also doing the work of maintaining law and order.
He said, to preserve the memory of Tanzim Sarwar, initiatives will be taken by the state to do something at his birth place in Tangail.
6 people have already been arrested on suspicion of Tanjim’s murder. In response to a question from the media workers, what other steps are being taken to ensure the punishment of the arrested, the advisor said, we will ensure the strictest punishment for this murder. The whole matter is under investigation. It cannot be said before the investigation whether there is anything more to it. However, whoever is involved in this incident will be prosecuted.
All the illegal weapons of the country have not been recovered. They will be recovered soon. Our law and order forces and joint forces are working diligently to ensure public safety and law and order situation, he said.
