Students-lawyers protest at Supreme Court demanding resignation of Chief Justice

Protesting students have descended on the Supreme Court premises demanding the resignation of the judges of the Appellate Division including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan.
Besides, a large number of Supreme Court lawyers are protesting the same demand.
Students from various educational institutions started coming to the Supreme Court premises in a procession from 11 am today. They and the lawyers are also raising various slogans demanding the resignation of the judges, claiming them as gang members.
Hasnat Abdullah, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, said, “We have seen that evil forces and defeated forces are trying to thwart the freedom bought by the protection of hundreds of martyrs.” We will resist them. That’s why everyone come down to the streets. He said, our Chief Justice of Appellate Division is trying to hold an online queue with other judges. We have seen that Sheikh Hasina’s son Joy said that her mother did not resign. He said that Sheikh Hasina’s government has fallen in the face of student movement. So one who has fallen need not resign.
Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah said that if the judges of the Appellate Division, including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, do not resign by 1 pm, the consequences will be like that of Sheikh Hasina. We will surround the residences of the chief justices and force them to resign.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed told Asim Bass that many judges, including the Chief Justice, conducted judicial proceedings from the party point of view. They broke their oath. Now they have to resign. The lawyer student movement and the public also demand the same
Meanwhile, the full court meeting of the Supreme Court called by the Chief Justice was announced this morning with the participation of all the judges. The Chief Justice called a full court meeting at 10:30 am to discuss how to run the court in the current situation and various issues.
