A STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) project exhibition was held today at the Nalchiti Upazila Parishad Model Mosque Auditorium to inspire local students to develop their innovative talents and encourage an interest in science and technology.

The exhibition featured projects by students from various educational institutions in Nalchiti, showcasing their creativity and innovative ideas. The event was organized by Team STEM, the national winner of the ‘Invest in Women Idea Challenge 2024’ hosted by Save the Children. The goal of the exhibition was to promote STEM education and encourage students to apply their innovative thinking and skills.

The event’s chief guest, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, emphasized the importance of STEM education and the need to foster innovation among the younger generation. He expressed his appreciation to both Team STEM and the volunteers of the local youth organization Tarunner Nalchity for their contributions to the success of the event.

Volunteers from Tarunner Nalchity played a key role in the overall management and coordination of the exhibition. A total of seven teams participated, presenting various innovative STEM projects.

Notable projects included: “Practical Innovators” with their gas leakage detector, “Team Robot” with their speaking robot, “Team Summit” showcasing an automatic water-saving device, “The Experimenters” with an energy-efficient transport model, “Khude Biggani” with their earthquake alarm system, “Unique Group” with their air cooler and water heater, and “Team Innovators” with a smart farming system.

The event was presided over by Campaign Coordinator Md. Khaled Saifullah, with Sanjida Akter as the emcee and STEM Event Coordinator Meherab Hossain Rifat overseeing the program. Judges included tech entrepreneurs Md. Asadullah Al Mahmud and Mahfuzur Rahman Tahmid.

This exhibition also saw significant participation from female students, reflecting efforts to promote gender inclusion in STEM fields. The organizers believe that the event will spark greater enthusiasm for science and technology among students and play a vital role in nurturing creativity and leadership skills.
