Sneha drug addiction treatment center Rangpur received highest donation in country

There are about 480 private drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers in Bangladesh. Among them 15 in Rangpur division and 08 in Rangpur. Based on the number of beds and quality of the drug addiction treatment centers, the Government of Bangladesh through the Security Service Division of the Narcotics Control Directorate (Medical and Rehabilitation Branch) under the Ministry of Home Affairs provided financial grants to a total of 82 drug addiction treatment centers across the country, including two-Sneha Drug Addiction Treatment Center in Rangpur Division and Life Light Drug Addiction and Psychiatric Treatment Center. On the other hand, Rangpur’s Sneha Drug Addiction Treatment Center received the country’s highest financial grant based on beds and quality.
According to the sources of the Directorate of Narcotics Control, the government conducts financial grant programs for the purpose of increasing the capacity of private drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers in order to improve the treatment programs of drug addicts. Based on beds and quality, recommendations are made for financial grants through the committee, which are then passed to the Ministry for financial grants. In this, 82 drug addiction treatment centers across the country, including 2 in Rangpur Division, have received grants. The financial donation check was handed over by Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Habibur Rahman Sneha Drug Addiction Treatment Center Managing Director Manowarul Kadir Masum and Zainba Alo Drug Addiction and Mental Treatment Center Director AKM Mizanur Rahman (RIPU) at Rangpur Divisional Commissioner’s office on Tuesday morning, 16th May. At this time, Additional Director of Narcotics Control Directorate Ali Aslam Hossain (Additional Duty of Deputy Director) was present.
When asked about this, Director of Life Light Drug Addiction and Mental Healing Center Ripu said, I am very happy to receive the government financial grant, it is the result of the work of all the staff under my care. Financial donations will go towards the development of my drug addiction treatment center. I would like to thank the administration of the Narcotics Control Directorate and all the administrations involved in this work, including the Honorable Prime Minister, for receiving the grant.
Manowaruro Kadir Masum, Managing Director of Sneha Drug Addiction Treatment Center, said that the government has been providing grants to the treatment center since 4 years, including this time, my organization has received financial grants twice and received the highest grant. I am proud of this, it has been possible with the cooperation of all the officers and employees under the organization, so everyone is happy. I thank the concerned administration including the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for receiving the grant. This money will be spent entirely on drug addiction treatment centers.
Ali Aslam Hossain, Additional Director of Narcotics Control Department, said, “We have asked for an application from the morning treatment center, we have submitted the application and formed a committee as per the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, they have checked and recommended the grant.” Then grants are made. This time 82 institutions across the country and 2 institutions in Rangpur Division have received financial grants. Sneha Drug Addiction Treatment Center received maximum grant due to good quality of beds.
