In Brahmanbaria, a total of 13 independent candidates have filed their nomination papers for five of the six constituencies. Among them there are five rebel candidates of Awami League. It is believed that the candidate of Awami League will suffer in three seats in those five districts.
As the candidate of Jatiya Party is independent in one seat, Nikeshe will have a lot of influence in terms of votes there as well. Syed AK Ekramuzzaman created a surprise by buying the nomination form while being the adviser of the BNP Chairperson. He is largely dependent on the fact that no one else in the Awami League has submitted nomination papers by the deadline on Thursday, the last day to submit nomination papers for his parliamentary seat.
A total of 55 people have submitted nomination papers for six seats in the district. Out of this, six people nominated by Awami League, six people from Jatiya Party and 30 people from other 12 parties submitted their nomination papers. Their nomination papers will be selected on Sunday.

Current Member of Parliament Badrozzaman Md. Farhad Hossain has been nominated by Awami League from this seat. There are nine candidates in this seat. Among them are the former General Secretary of Upazila Awami League ATM Moniruzzaman Sarkar and Upazila Awami League member Roma Akhter. Not only this seat, Syed AK Ekramuzzaman, who is going to fight as an independent, has created a surprise in the entire district. After purchasing the nomination form, he was sacked from the BNP Chairperson’s post and hence the party. Besides, district and upazila BNP declared him undesirable.

As always, this time too, the battle for votes will gather in this seat. The party has re-nominated Awami League candidate Shahjahan Alam Saju who won in the by-election held last month. However, the former joint general secretary of the district Awami League as a rebel. Moin Uddin can be a cause of great suffering for the party candidate. Rezaul Islam Bhuya, nominated from Brahmanbaria-3 seat along with Abdul Hamid, has submitted his nomination papers for the Jatiya Party. Apart from this, Rezaul Islam’s father-in-law and former member of parliament, Jatiya Party leader Ziaul Haque Mridha has also submitted nomination papers as an independent candidate.
11 people have submitted nomination papers in this seat. Trinamool BNP’s candidate is Mainul Hasan, son of the late Member of Parliament Abdus Sattar. Abdus Sattar, expelled from BNP, won the last by-election mainly with the ‘support’ of Awami League. Moin Uddin said that he will be on the field till the end. In the previous elections, he withdrew his nomination papers on the instructions of the party. “If I am not in the election, it will not be participatory in the end,” he said. Jahangir Alam, Bazlur Rahman Milan of Bangladesh Congress, Shaheen Khan of National People’s Party, Syed Zafarul Quddus of Tarikat Federation have submitted nomination papers. However, it is believed that those candidates will not be able to make much impact. Awami League’s nomination from this seat is a former member of parliament. Shah Alam and former Jubo League Central Committee leader Shyamal Kumar Roy bought nomination papers but did not submit them.
Since those two independent candidates did not submit their nomination papers, it has been confirmed that Awami League candidate Law Minister Anisul Haque will be elected as a Member of Parliament for the third time. Nomination papers were bought as an independent candidate for Member of Parliament Ebadul Karim Bulbul but it was not submitted in the end. In this situation, Awami League nominated candidate, former member of parliament Faizur Rahman, made the calculation of the polling field much easier. A total of 11 people have submitted nomination papers from this seat. In this seat from the National Party. Mubarak Hossain and Mufti Habibur Rahman got nomination from Trinamool BNP. Besides, three from independents and five from five parties have submitted nomination papers.

However, they are not expected to make much of an impact on the polls.
