 One of the initiatives of Prime Minister Jannetri Sheikh Hasina, the much-discussed and acclaimed daughter of Bangabandhu, is the construction of a model mosque in every upazila. As a result, there was a dispute over the construction site of the model mosque allocated in Ghazaria upazila for a long time. In the meantime, letters have been published in the media including Facebook, as a result of which the construction of the said model mosque has been suspended for a few days, but the construction work has started again at the disputed site. It is to be noted that the upazila model mosque should be constructed in populated areas and where the communication system is good, considering that the Muslims of each union can offer prayers. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina has given instructions. But it is very sad that the construction of a model mosque is going on by giving priority to a union in Ghazaria upazila which is very sad. Meanwhile, considering the public interest, honorable chairman of 7 (seven) unions of Ghazaria upazila submitted a petition signed by the former upazila chairman, current upazila vice chairman, former upazila vice chairman to the honorable minister of religion. They said that we have appealed to the minister in public interest that the gift model mosque of the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should be built in the middle of Ghazaria upazila and where the Muslims of each union can offer prayers and enjoy other facilities. We are hopeful that the appropriate authorities will analyze the right judgment and take necessary measures.
In view of which, the project director (560 model mosque) Mujibur Rahman, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Religion Md Shakhawat Hossain, Deputy Director Islamic Foundation Munshiganj visited the site under the leadership of Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religion Mu A: Awal Hawladar. In response to the questions of the media, they said that we have seen on the ground and will submit a report in this regard. Ghazaria Upazila Chairman Amirul Islam, Ghazaria Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Mahfuz were present among others.
