Shibulu lost life in sudden shooting while going for walk with son

After being unconscious for four days, Abu Bakar Chiddiq Shiblu died while undergoing treatment at Agargaon National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Dhaka. He was shot dead in the Abdullahpur Railgate area last Tuesday (23 July) during the clashes surrounding the quota reform movement. When the mother left around 2:30 on Wednesday night, relatives returned to the village with the dead body on Thursday afternoon. That night, he was buried in Dakshin Chanpur area of ​​Yakubpur Union of Daganbhuya Upazila of Feni.

On Friday (July 26) afternoon, the house of Shiblur village was visited and it was found that he is the younger son of deceased Abul Hasem of Ochi Uddin Bhuya village of South Chanpur area. His elder brother Bablu is general secretary of Yakubpur Union Jubo League. Other 5 sisters are married. Shibulu has been living with his wife and children in Uttara Sector 8 area for the past four years as he is working as an assistant accountant of Elite Paint in Dhaka. One of the two children is Farhan Siddique (8 years) and Nusaiba Siddique (10 months). Farhan is studying in class two in a local madrasa in Uttara area.

The first picture shows a smiling Shibulu wearing Punjabi in a village house with his son Farhan. In another picture, Shivlu is seen in a coffin. Bullet marks on the ear on the side of the head are visible in the picture.

Bablu, quoting Shiblu’s wife Rima, said, “On the day of the incident, Shiblu went out with his son Farhan on Sunday afternoon on July 21. There, two people were sitting after a walk at the Abdullahpur railway gate. When the conflict started, Shiblu was shot on the left side of the head when he stood up with his son to go home. Neighbors rescued him unconscious and took him to a local private hospital. From there the doctor on duty sent to Agargaon Neurosciences Hospital. After receiving the news from Rima, I rushed to Dhaka.

Bablu said, “He was transferred to the ICU on Tuesday.” By then the doctors had given up hope. But little by little Shiblu’s finger moved and everyone felt hopeful. That movement also stopped after Wednesday evening. At one point, the doctors declared him dead around 2:30 am.

Bablu also said, Shiblur never regained consciousness after being shot. Because of this I could not know anything from him. On that day, there was a clash at Uttara Purba police station, but Shibulu was shot dead in the area of ​​Dakshinkhan police station. Both the police stations were approached but no one took up the case. As a result, the only brother was buried with bullet wounds without post-mortem.

Yakubpur UP member Zainal Abdin said that Shiblur’s body was brought to the village house around 8 pm on Thursday. There is a mournful atmosphere created by the mourning of the relatives. He was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral at 10 pm in front of the house.
