Deputy Minister of Water Resources and former organizing secretary of Awami League AKM Enamul Haque Shamim MP said, in the thousand years history of the Bengali nation, this land could not be ruled by Bengalis. In the long history of exploitation, deprivation and subjugation, independence and freedom movement was started through freedom fighters-revolutionaries like Titumir, Surya Sen, Pritilata Waddedar, but none of them could bring final victory and freedom. Only under the leadership of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Bengali nation achieved the much-desired independence. Thousands of years of subjugation of the Bengali nation ended under his leadership.
Only under the leadership of the father of the nation and responding to his call, this country became independent through the great war of liberation. This country did not become independent at the call of any major. Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has no choice to keep the dignity of the red flag intact on the green chest earned by the blood of the brave freedom fighters under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Today on the occasion of the Great Independence Day in Shariatpur B. L. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the reception and discussion meeting of the brave freedom fighters organized by the upazila administration in the government high school grounds.
He said to the brave freedom fighters, the country became independent for you. You are the heroes of the nation. We are proud of you. So we are forever indebted to you and this debt can never be repaid. As long as there is a red flag on the chest of Bangladesh and green, then the name of the brave freedom fighters of Bangladesh along with Bangabandhu will be forever tarnished.
Enamul Haque Shamim said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the main source of power of Bengali independence movement. He was always a loud voice for democratic rights. His speech on March 7, 1971 is a historic document for democratic rights, independence and freedom. That speech awakened a nation, united it. Such events are rare in world history. Bangabandhu’s name will forever be written in golden letters in the liberation movement of Bangladesh, in the freedom struggle of Bangladesh. This is what has been expressed in this phrase of Annadashankar Roy – ‘As long as Padma-Yamuna Gouri-Meghna Bahman/Tattil Rabe Kirti tomar Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.’
The Deputy Minister said that Bangabandhu united the entire nation like Hamilon’s flute player. He was a political poet. Bangabandhu’s lifelong dream was to build a non-communal democratic Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty. His dream has not yet been realized. Therefore, to realize Bangabandhu’s dream, to establish a non-communal Bangladesh free from exploitation, everyone must work unitedly under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The former organizing secretary of Awami League said that no other head of government except Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done anything for the welfare of freedom fighters. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina has arranged for burial with state dignity besides increasing the treatment, travel and allowances of the brave freedom fighters. No one honored them except Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, whereas the brave freedom fighters deserved it. On the occasion of Mujibvarsh, 30,000 houses are being gifted to the homeless, dead and poor freedom fighters and their families. This is a rare event in the history of the world. Therefore, the people will bring Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina to power for the fifth time in the next election as well.
