Dhaka, April 14, 2025:
The New Year celebrations began on the premises of Bangladesh Shishu Academy with the national anthem and the party song “Come, O Boishakh, Come, Come, Let the dirt be wiped away, Let the dirt be washed away, Let the fire be cleansed.” Sharmin S. Murshid, Advisor to the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs and Social Welfare, inaugurated the New Year celebrations as the chief guest. Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs, Momtaz Ahmed, NDC, Director General of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Dilara Begum, and child artists of Shishu Academy were present at the event.
The advisors, presidents, special guests, guardians, and beloved little ones present at the event wished everyone a Happy New Year.
The advisor said, “Today’s little beauties, the smile on your faces and the dream in your eyes, you are the light of this country’s future. I am very happy to be with you on this colorful day.” He said, “Pahela Baishakh is not just a date, it is a symbol of our culture, love and joy.”
This day is bright, colorful and vibrant just like you. The counselor says, “You know, Pohela Baishakh means the beginning of a new year. We promise to forget the old sorrows and troubles and move forward with new hopes. Just as you learn something new every day, you should also try to do something good every day.”
He said that the independent, democratic and progressive state we live in today did not come about in a day, and behind it are the sacrifices, struggles and struggles of thousands of people. Even in 2024, through the countless small gems of our July-August Revolution, and the sacrifices of countless students and people, we have achieved the ‘New Year’s Joyful Procession’ of the new Bangladesh’s new Baishakh. This year’s Baishakh joyous procession has brought new enthusiasm to our national life. May this New Year be the source of new consciousness for the July Revolution, from which we will move forward with strength on the path of building a non-discriminatory and developed Bangladesh.
We wish that everyone should live together in this New Year, stay away from violence and hatred, and maintain social unity and order. Let us pledge on the first day of the New Year – we will stand against corruption, drugs, violence and superstition. I tell you – study hard, listen to your parents, respect your teachers and never hurt anyone. Always value honesty, kindness and friendship. Only then will you be able to grow up and make this country more beautiful.
In today’s event – Boishakh, Nagardola, Puthipath, Gambhira, Biscope, Oiled Banana Tree Climbing Competition, Sangrai Festival Water Games, Dance, Songs and Poems – all for your enjoyment. Enjoy with open mind, laugh, sing and love each other. May your life be full of colors and joy on this auspicious New Year, expressed the advisor’s optimism.
