A seminar titled ‘4th Industrial Revolution and Potential of Aquaculture System in Bangladesh’ was held at Noakhali University of Science and Technology (Noakhali University of Science and Technology).
The seminar was held yesterday at the conference room of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science (FMS) of Noakhali University. The chief guest was the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail.
Speaking as the chief guest at the seminar, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail said, “We are very happy that this seminar is being held on a necessary and practical topic for us. The importance of the blue economy is increasing in recent times. Especially in our southern region, as a coastal region, the importance of the blue economy is immense.”
For this purpose, we have undertaken a project called the Institute of Marine Science and Marine Resources Management, which I think will bring benefits in the future. The Vice-Chancellor further said, currently, the connection between the blue economy and the 4th industrial revolution has been established and the era of automation has arrived. So, which sectors can we move forward with, especially what can we do in fisheries, I hope those aspects will come up today. Through this seminar, our students will be able to know about these issues in detail. I thank the organizers and wish the seminar success. The event was presided over by the Chairman of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science, Professor Dr. Mehedi Mahmudul Hasan, and the special guests at the event were the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Haque, Treasurer Professor Dr. Hanif, and Director of the Research Cell, Professor Dr. Muhammad Shafiqul Islam. The vote of thanks was given by Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al Mamun, Department of Fisheries and Marine Science. The keynote speaker at the seminar was Dr. Mohammad Tanvir Hossain, Senior Assistant Director of Blue Economy Cell, Bangladesh. Incidentally, the seminar was fully supported by the Nobiprobi Research Society for the participation of teachers and students of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science. The seminar was sponsored by Aqualance, Bangladesh.
