Seminar on CSE’s progress and prospects held at International Standard University

A seminar titled “Progress and Prospects of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Program in Bangladesh” was held at International Standard University (ISU) on the morning of 22 December 2024 (Sunday). ISU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan was the chief guest and renowned teacher Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaikobad was present as the keynote speaker.
The Vice Chancellor said, the journey of CSE is not very old. Once upon a time, there was nothing to say about computers, email, CSE, programming. But now CSE is present in all fields. The 2-3% GDP growth worldwide is happening only because of Computer Science and Engineering.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaikobad said, if you want to work in Google, Microsoft, Facebook or other international organizations, it is not necessary to study at BUET, if the goal is right. The excellence of a person is his brain. This brain must be developed properly and intellectually practiced constantly. In addition, he emphasized on acquiring skills in programming, stating that there are many opportunities for students to build a career in domestic and foreign companies. He also said, you need to develop the habit of thinking because problems open the door to possibilities.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaikobad is a former professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He is currently teaching at BRAC University. This internationally renowned computer scientist has a good reputation in Australia, America and other international circles.
The meeting was presided over by Syed Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Chairperson of ISU Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department, and was attended by Treasurer Professor H. T. M. Quader Newaz, CSE Department Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Nurul Huda, and ISU Registrar Faizullah Kaushik as special guests. Teachers, administrative officers, and students were also present.
