Search committee members demand removal of Imroz

Sports Desk: The search committee formed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the purpose of reforming the sports arena was debated from the beginning. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Party (BNP) youth and sports secretary Aminul Haque raised objections to convener Zobayedur Rahman Rana after the formation of the committee. However, the sports ministry did not take into account the demand of the former star goalkeeper of the Bangladesh national football team.

After that, BNP leader Mohiuddin Bulbul, one of the members of the committee, was dismissed from the committee by the Ministry of Sports on the allegation of attending a candidate’s event on the occasion of Buffe election.

Bulbul, however, claimed that he may have been removed from the committee because of his involvement with BNP politics. Bangladesh Sports Education Institute Director General Md. has been taken as a new member instead. Munirul Islam.

The committee, which was given two months, has already spent one month. After a month, one of the members of this committee, Major (Retd.) Imroz Ahmed, was demanded to be removed. Bangladesh Hockey Players Welfare Association has claimed this.

A notice signed by the president of the association and former captain of the national hockey team, Russell Khan Bappi, said that they will stage a sit-in strike in front of the National Sports Council at 11 am on Thursday and submit a memorandum to the Youth and Sports Advisor, demanding the removal of Imroz Ahmed within 24 hours.
