School teacher arrested by mob from expatriate wife’s house, released in Rafadfa

Locals arrested a school teacher named Bellal Hossain from the house of an expatriate’s wife in Ewajpur Union of Charfassion , Bhola.  Later, the school teacher was released on a ransom of 1 lakh rupees.School teacher Bellal Hossain is said to be a neighbor of the woman in Ward No. 7 of Ewajpur Union and an assistant teacher of North Char Manika Secondary School.  In this incident, there is a commotion across the village.
Local neighbors said that on the occasion of the woman’s husband being abroad, the woman developed an estranged relationship with a neighboring school teacher.  School teacher Bellal Hossain often used to visit that house.  On Saturday night, teacher Bellal Hossain went to visit the expatriate’s wife at that house and some local youths arrested him from that house.  Later the local Chhatra League leaders released him after paying a ransom of 1 lakh rupees.
A Chhatra League leader, on condition of anonymity, said that teacher Bellal Hossain paid 40,000 taka out of 100,000 taka and the remaining 60,000 taka is expected to be paid today.
Shafi Ullah, a local, said that when the sight of school teacher Bellal Hossain going to the expatriate’s wife’s house came at night, he and some other youths went to the side of that house and seeing his condition, they arrested them red-handed.  Later local BCL leaders took him hostage.
His statement that the expatriate’s wife ran away from the house immediately after the incident is not known.
However, the accused school teacher Bellal Hossain said that later in the evening he went to the woman’s house to pay the money due. Later some young people including local Shafi Ullah accused him of adultery with women and arrested him. He claimed that he was detained in that room to humiliate him socially due to his previous enmity with Safi Ulla.
Shasibhushan Police Station OC Md.  Enamul Haque said that he is not aware of the incident, but if a complaint is received, action will be taken.
