Inner Wheel Club Dhaka Updown has donated school bags and notebooks to underprivileged children in Barura Upazila of Comilla.
On Friday afternoon, March 14, Barura Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Nu-Mong Marma Mong was present as the chief guest at the event under the overall supervision of Tuhin Ahmed, Director of Prajonmo Social Welfare Service Center.
The event was addressed as special guests by prominent social worker Nilufar Begum, representative of Inner Wheel Club of Dhaka North Mahmud Rahman, general secretary of the organization poet Rima Chishti, former general manager of BCIC Farukul Islam, and assistant professor of Jhalom High School and College journalist Mohammad Masud Majumder.
At the event, 200 underprivileged students were given attractive school bags and notebooks. Receiving the gifts created joy and excitement among the children. They spontaneously participated in the motivational program and were encouraged.
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the Royal University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, the organization’s general secretary, poet Rima Chishti, the director of the Prajonmo Social Welfare Service Center, Tuhin Ahmed Prajonmo, journalist Mohammad Masud Majumder, and other prominent figures in the area expressed their congratulations and gratitude for implementing this great initiative.
