Mohammad Sharifuzzaman (Special Correspondent): Savar National Memorial is Full of Love From All Statges of Peoples of Bangladesh. Bangladeshi’s this day of glory is December 16. On the occasion of Great Victory Day, people from all walks of life paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the Savar National Memorial. At the beginning of the day, with the sunrise, the President laid wreaths at the martyrs’ altar of the National Memorial. Mr. Sahabuddin, Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and President of East Timor Mr. Jose Ramos Horta, Chief Justice, Chiefs of various forces and important state personalities, people from all walks of life including BNP paid their respects. At 6:30 am on Monday, President Md. Sahabuddin paid tribute with flowers. At that time, he stood there silently for some time to pay humble respect to the memory of the brave martyrs of the great liberation war of 1971. At this time, a smart team consisting of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force gave the state salute. The bugle sounded a mournful note. Later, the President signed the visitor’s book kept in the memorial premises. After some time at 7:12 in the morning, the Chief Advisor paid tribute to the brave martyrs at the National Memorial. Muhammad Yunus. At that time, he was accompanied by the President of East Timor, Jose Ramos Horta, some other advisers and the heads of the three forces. After placing the wreath, the Chief Adviser stood there for some time in silence to pay humble respect to the memory of the brave martyrs of the Great Liberation War of 1971. At this time, a smart team consisting of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force gave the state salute. The bugle sounded a mournful note. Later, the Chief Adviser and the President of East Timor signed the visitor’s book at the memorial premises. After the state tribute, the memorial premises were thrown open to the public.

After this, the National Memorial premises open and became bustling with people from various walks of life. Like other years, various social, political, professional organizations, various schools, colleges, universities and other public and private institutions paid tribute to the nation’s best children with flowers. Ordinary people of different classes and professions of the country paid their respects.
Besides, the halls of Jahangirnagar University, Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh Labor Party, National University, Leather Research Institute, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, People’s University, National Democratic Party, Bangladesh National Party, (BJP), People’s Rights Parishad, Dhaka University Halls, Shere Bangla Agricultural University, Bangladesh University of Engineering, Bangladesh Open University, Islamic Arabic University, Farmer Labor Janata League, National Socialist Party, Labor Federation, National Citizen Committee are the heroes of the nation. He paid tribute to the martyrs.

On the other hand, on the occasion of Victory Day, the police arrested 7 leaders and activists including the former General Secretary of Dhaka District Awami League and the former Chairman of Dhaka District Council, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, who came to pay their respects at the Shaheed Bedi at the National Memorial. They were detained from the inspection camp area of ​​the National Memorial on Monday afternoon. Among those detained, the names of former General Secretary of Dhaka District Awami League and former Chairman of Dhaka District Council Mr. Mahbubur Rahman and former member of parliament Mr. Saiful Islam of Dhaka-19 Constituency Milton have been revealed. The names of the rest have not been found. Awami League leaders and activists said that on December 16, former General Secretary of Dhaka District Awami League Mr. Mahabubur Rahman came to pay tribute to the martyrs. Under his leadership, the workers of the local Dhaka-19 Member of Parliament came to pay their respects at the memorial. Meanwhile, activists were gathering near the camp they visited. Later on getting the information, DMP (DB) police and Ashulia Thana police arrested 7 leaders and activists including Shraddha.

In this regard, Inspector (OC) of Ashulia Police Station Mr. Abu Bakar Siddique said, Awami League leaders and activists came to pay their respects at the National Memorial in the afternoon. Meanwhile, 7 people have been arrested.
