The sale of party nomination forms of the Jatiya Party (Japa) for the 12th National Assembly elections has started. The program started at 11:30 a.m. on Monday (November 20) at the office of JPA Chairman Golam Mohammad (GM) Quader in Banani of the capital.

Nomination forms can be collected and submitted till Tuesday (November 21). Forms can be submitted daily from 10 am to 4 pm.

This year, the price of Jatiya Party nomination form has been increased to 30 thousand rupees.

Meanwhile, although the sale of nomination forms has started, the leaders and activists of the party are still hesitant about participating in the elections.

They say that the sale of forms has started to advance the work of the election process and candidate selection. But if fair environment is not ensured, they will not participate in the polls.

Earlier Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule of 12th National Assembly elections.

According to the schedule, the polling for the national elections will be held on January 7 next year. And the last date for submission of nomination papers is 30 November. Nomination papers will be selected from December 1 to 4, appeals against the order of the Returning Officer will be filed and disposed of in the commission from December 6 to 15. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is 17th December. The returning officers will allot the symbols on December 18.
