In the speech of the chief negotiator, Farhad Mazhar said, Biplab is not a dinner party. The main spirit of the coup has been lost by leasing the mass uprising of the students to President Shahabuddin Chuppu. He called upon everyone to unite in the post-coup state building by discussing the aspirations of the people with the students, politicians and intellectuals, framing a new constitution and democratically conducting elections.
At the time, he also said, urged the army to keep a watchful eye so that the magisterial powers are not prolonged for more than 2 months. He also warned the concerned authorities that the workers of various political parties including BNP-Jamaat should not be victims of extrajudicial killings at the field level.
At the end of the meeting, imprisoned journalists Aliullah Noman and Farhad Mazhar were felicitated with flowers and wished for good health and long life.
