A madrasa student named Atiqur Rahman Atiq (12) was recovered from the septic tank in Patuakhali’s Bauphal.
Atiq’s body was recovered from the safety tank of Jame Masjid of Pakdal Munsi house in Kachipara Union of the upazila around 6:30 pm on Saturday. Atiq is the son of Sarwar Hossain Sardar of Zirail village of Durgapasa union of Bakerganj upazila. Atiq Pakdal Fazlur Rahman was a student of Hefj Department of Darul Uloom Madrasa. Related sources said that on Saturday morning, the classmates and teachers of the madrasa woke up and started looking for Atiqul without finding him anywhere. At one point another madrasa student, suspicious of Ismail’s movements, admitted to hiding Atiq’s safety thong when interrogated. Later in the evening, the door of the safety tank of that mosque was opened and Atiq’s body was recovered. Police detained Ismail 18 for questioning in this incident.
Chairman of Kachipara Union Parishad Rafiqul Islam and relatives of the deceased said Ismail confessed to his teachers about killing Atiqul. The chairman and Atiq’s relatives said it is not possible for the killer Ismail alone to hide the Las Safety Tank by causing the incident.
In this regard, Baufphal police station officer-in-charge ATM Arichul Haque said that Atiq’s body was recovered and sent to Patuakhali morgue for post-mortem. After further investigation the murder mystery will be revealed and appropriate action will be taken.
