A commemoration meeting was held in memory of the martyrs and injured in the students’ uprising in Barura, Comilla.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Zahidul Islam, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Nasreen Sultana Tanu, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Muhibus Salam Khan, Barura Officer in-charge Kazi Thana attended the meeting in Barura Upazila Parishad meeting room at 11 am on Tuesday. Nazmul Haque, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Afroza Begum, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md Borhan Uddin Bhuiya, Barura Rural Electricity Zonal Officer Md. Jalal Uddin. Hafez Md. Ali Ullah, father of Martyr Hafez Md. Masudur Rahman of Arjuntala village of Barura Upazila, coordinator of Barura Upazila Mostakin Patwari, Taukir Alam Pafan, student leader Md. Rabin, Alauddin spoke on the occasion.
During the July-August student uprising, the injured and martyred family members greeted with flowers and gave gifts. At the end Khatib Hafez Md. Abul Khair of Upazila Parishad Jame Masjid led prayers and prayers for the forgiveness of souls in memory of the martyrs.
Meanwhile, Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Emong Marma Mong expressed his determination to support the injured and martyred family members in any need.
