Comilla University (CUB) Registrar Md. Mujibur Rahman Majumdar has been sent on compulsory leave following allegations of financial and administrative irregularities. Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Head of the Department of Mathematics of the university, has taken charge as the new registrar. This information was given in an office order signed by the university’s Deputy Registrar Md. Dalilur Rahman on Monday (March 3).

The office order states that during the compulsory leave, Md. Mujibur Rahman Majumdar will not be able to enter the Comilla University campus even if he receives regular salary and allowances. During this time, he will not be able to enjoy any benefits related to vehicles, telephone, mobile allowance and newspapers. If he is found guilty in the investigation, a further decision will be taken. His compulsory leave will remain in effect until further orders.

Md. Mojibur Rahman Majumder has previously served in administrative positions. In February 2024, he was reinstated as Registrar after a long legal battle. However, based on recent allegations, he was again sent on compulsory leave.

The authorities have taken this step to ensure transparency and accountability in the administrative activities of the university. A proper investigation committee will be formed to investigate the allegations, and further action will be taken based on the results of the investigation.
