A 15-year-old teenage bride left her husband’s house after being raped by a man named Halim Sikder (45) 3 days before the wedding in Charakhali area of Galua Union of Rajapur Upazila of Jhalkathi District. In this incident, on June 28, the victim’s father filed a case against Ghatak Halim Sikder at Rajapur Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. Since the case, Halim Sikder was absconding. A team of RAB-8 arrested Halim Sikder from a cement factory in Narayanganj area of Dhaka on Friday (July 14) and handed him over to Rajapur police station on Saturday (July 15).
