Staff Reporter: A complaint has been received against Shah Alam Murad, a member of the Rangamati District Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and a member of the Longadu Upazila Branch Committee. It is also known that several posts against Shah Alam Murad have been made on the social media platform Facebook by various BNP leaders and activists in Rangamati district, which has created a sensation in the area.
Shah Alam Murad was present at a meeting procession with Awami League leaders and activists during the last 16 years of dictatorship. Laiju, the daughter of Afzal, a disabled person who suffered in such an incident, said, Shah Alam Murad and Sabed Ali took advantage of this opportunity to grab our property because my family’s father is disabled and we are helpless. We want proper justice.
We are seeking cooperation from all political leaders, administration and others to get out of such a situation. They are linking our names with various political parties to seize land, regarding this, Rangamati district BNP member Shah Alam Murad said, I have the documents of that property. When the reporter asked about the procession meeting during the dictatorship of Hasina, he said, “My family is associated with Awami League politics, and various people may have pictures of that farewell. I used to be a tea shop owner, now I have various businesses.” Regarding this, Rangamati district BNP general secretary Advocate Mamun said, “I do not know anything about the land seizure. And I do not know Shah Alam Murad. Send the phone number of the victim’s family, I will look into the matter.”
