International Disaster Mitigation Day was celebrated in Trishal, Mymensingh with the theme, Fight Inequality, Build a Disaster Resilient Future. A rally was organized by the upazila administration (disaster management wing) on Friday morning. The rally left the Upazila Parishad premises and circled the important roads of the Upazila. Later a discussion meeting was organized in the Upazila Parishad premises.
Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Jewel Ahmed said, “Everyone must be careful to reduce the damage of the disaster. If we are careful, then we will be able to reduce the damage of the disaster. Trishal Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Shahidullah, Trishal Upazila Fire Service and Civil Defense Team Leader Md. Sadikur Rahman also spoke. Employees of various departments were present. After the rally and discussion, the Civil Defense performed a drill on various issues to be done in disaster at the Upazila Parishad premises.
