Rajbari District Commissioner’s press briefing with journalists

On the occasion of Mujib year, Rajbari District Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan gave a press briefing on providing houses for all ‘A’ class landless and homeless people of the country.

A press briefing was held with local journalists in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Monday (7th August) morning.
In a press briefing, Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan said in a written speech, “Every person in my country will get food, get shelter, get education, have a better life – this is my dream” on 3rd July 1972 at the cooperative conference organized by the Bangladesh National Cooperative Union. Based on the words of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the current government has been rehabilitating the landless and homeless helpless families in various ways. The Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina said, “Not a single person in Bangladesh will remain homeless.” In this continuation, the landless and homeless rehabilitation program is ongoing on the occasion of Mujib year. 2399 houses have already been handed over to the beneficiaries in Rajbari district.

A total of 277 houses including 35 in Rajbari Sadar Upazila, 120 in Pangsha Upazila, 120 in Baliakandi Upazila and 2 in Goalanda Upazila were handed over to the beneficiaries on 22 March 23. According to the latest update, Kalukhali, Rajbari Sadar, Pansha and Baliakandi upazilas of the district have been declared as ‘A’ class landless and homeless free upazilas as there are no ‘A’ category homeless and landless families.

13 houses have been prepared for inauguration in Goalanda Upazila on August 9. Through this, according to the latest updated list of Goalanda Upazila, there are no “A” class landless-homeless families left. In such a situation, Goaland Upazila will be declared ‘A’ class landless-homeless free. In the opening ceremony, local public representatives, beneficiaries from all upazila parishad auditoriums of the district. And all the concerned persons will be present. After announcing the auspicious opening of the event by the honorable Prime Minister through virtual medium, the houses along with the land will be handed over to the local beneficiaries.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Jayati Rupa Roy, Deputy Director of Local Government Asaduzzaman Ripon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md Sohag Hossain and journalists from local print and electronics media were present at the press briefing.
