Jhalkathi’s Rajapur in there has been a complaint of raising houses in the opposition’s property by organizing khichuri in the wee hours of the night, ignoring the court’s instructions. The incident took place in Angaria area of Sadar Union of the upazila on Tuesday night. When the victim’s family called the emergency service 999, the Rajapur Thana police went to the spot and stopped the work. The victim Md. Wahab Ali is the son of deceased Kazem Ali Khalifa of East Angaria area. The Hon’ble Court granted a partial preliminary decree of partition in April this year regarding the said property. Where within the next 90 days, the defendant respondent party is ordered to distribute the encroached land in favor of the plaintiff party. But ignoring the instructions given by the court, the plaintiff of the case, Md. Mujibar Molla, lifted the house in the property at night. Md. Mujibar Molla is the son of deceased Sekender Ali Molla of Satyanagar area of Upazila Sadar. Md. Wadud Khalifa, the son of the victim Wahab Ali Khalifa, said that his father, Wahab Ali Khalifa, bought the property about 60 years ago and built a residence and has been living in it. Recently, due to Cyclone Remal, water rose in one of their living rooms, rendering the house uninhabitable. Around 4 pm on Tuesday, Mujibar Molla broke the lock of his living room with about a hundred people and took possession of the house. Organized Khichuri in front of the house and raised another new house next to it. Md. Mujibar Mollah denied the complaint and said, “I have received the judgment of the court and it is my property.” On our property I have been lifting houses during the day. Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rajapur Circle) Md. Masud Rana said that after receiving the information, the force was sent to the spot and stopped the work. Both parties were called to the police station with documents.
