On 20/01/2025, in the Kadamtali police station area of ​​the capital, the victim (14) went out to her grandmother’s house to collect food at approximately 10.50 pm as her family was not at her house. On the way, the accused Md. Masum (25) and other accused grabbed the victim from behind, took her to an abandoned tin house and forcibly gang-raped her in turn.
In the said incident, the victim (14) informed her mother about the rape. After that, the victim’s mother discussed it with her husband. The victim’s father filed a rape case with the DMP, Kadamtali police station in Dhaka as the plaintiff. After learning about the case, the accused involved in the said incident went into hiding. Later, the investigating officer of the said case sent a request letter to the commander of RAB-10 to bring the accused involved in the said gang rape under the law. Based on the said request letter, an operational team of RAB-10 increased intelligence surveillance to arrest the said accused.
In continuation of this, on 23/02/2025 at approximately 17.50 pm, the operational team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in the Khepupara Sikder Road area under Kalapara Police Station of Patuakhali district based on secret information and with the help of information technology and in cooperation with RAB-8. In the said operation, DMP, Dhaka’s Kadamtali Police Station Case No.-53, Date-23/01/2025, Section- 9(3)/30 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000 (Amendment 2020) arrested the absconding accused Md. Masum @ Masum Boyati (25), father-Md. Faruk Boyati, resident-Kalapara Madrasa Road, Police Station-Kalapara, District-Patuakhali.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
